Paris Olympics: India beat Spain to win bronze medal in hockey.

India won the bronze medal by defeating Spain 1-2 in the hockey competition of the ongoing Olympics in Paris, France.
India won the match and the bronze medal thanks to two goals by captain Harmanpreet Singh in a thrilling contest. The first goal of the match was scored by Spain when Mark Miralles scored to give his team a 0-1 lead in the second quarter.
On behalf of India, Harmanpreet Singh equalized the match by scoring on a penalty corner in the second quarter.
The second and decisive goal for India was also scored by Harmanpreet Singh when he scored from a Pentley corner in the third quarter to give the team the lead. This is India’s second consecutive bronze medal in hockey at the Olympics.
Earlier in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics also Indian hockey team won a bronze medal.
It should be noted that the Indian team played the final in hockey competitions at the Moscow Olympics 44 years ago. In 1980, the Indian hockey team won the gold medal in the Moscow Olympics.
This is India’s fourth overall bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. India had earlier won three bronze medals in shooting events.
