3 players of Pakistan hockey team’s request for political asylum in Europe, banned for life

LAHORE: Three Pakistan hockey team players and a physio have reportedly applied for political asylum in Europe after which they have been banned for life.
According to the details, Olympian Mujahid Ali, secretary of the Pakistan Hockey Federation, has said in a press conference that three players of the national hockey team, Murtaza Yaqoob, Ehtesham Aslam, and Abdul Rehman, have been requested for political asylum abroad.
Rana Mujahid said that the above three players of the national hockey team and the physio went to Poland with the team but did not return home. He apologized for coming to the camp by writing a letter. He said that the three players went abroad without NOC, so the three players and the physio have been banned for life.
Secretary PHF said that we will write a letter to the Home Ministry for further action on the issue of these players. These overseas players were part of Karachi’s camp before the Azlan Shah Cup.
