The names of the players included in the 15-member national women’s team are Nida Dar (captain), Alia Riaz, Diana Baig, Fatima Sana, Gul Feroza, Iram Javed, Muniba Ali, Najia Alvi, Nashera Sindhu, Umaima Sohail, Sadia Iqbal, Sudarra Amin, Syeda. It consists of Aroob Shah, Tasmia Wahab and Touba Hasan. Muhammad Wasim is the head coach of the team, while former Test bowlers Abdul Rehman and Junaid Khan are the spin bowling coach and assistant coach respectively, Hina Manoor is the manager, Hanif Malik is the fielding coach, Rabia Siddiq is the physio, and Waleed Ahmed is the analyst. The first phase of the four-day training camp ended with the announcement of the women’s team. The National Women’s Selection Committee members, former Test cricketers Asad Shafiq and Batul Fatima, reviewed the players’ performance in the camp. At the end of the first phase of the camp, all the players left for their homes while the training camp of the selected national team will start from July 5 in Karachi. The women’s Asia Cup will be played in Dambulla, Sri Lanka from July 19 to 28. The Pakistan team included in Group A will play its first match on July 19 against traditional rivals India, matches against Nepal and United Arab Emirates will be played on July 21 and 23.
